The first edition of The Garden
This Halloween, join sisters Karen Hsu of Pom Pom Factory and Elaine Hsu for an afternoon of paper flowers, tarot and a little autumn magic at Hart Shoreditch Hotel London, Curio Collection by Hilton.
Inspired by two of tarot's Major Arcana, The Empress and Death, we'll explore the space between abundance and transformation.
The Empress sits in her lush garden, surrounded by creativity and everything she has nurtured. Death, on the other hand, is really about transformation, turning the page and making space for something new. Very fitting for Halloween, when things get a little darker, stranger and more magical.
This is what we'll bring together for your spooky afternoon!
Your afternoon includes
Create your own paper peony bouquet of around 3–5 stems in deep burgundy, blush, black and autumnal tones with Karen, using beautiful Italian crepe paper
A personal mini tarot reading with Elaine. Readings will be approximately 5–10 minutes per person, depending on final attendance, and will take place privately in the bar area, after which you can return to your flower-making
Take your spooky handmade bouquet home with you
Free entry into our Halloween prize draw, with two winners: one will receive a Pom Pom Factory bouquet, and one will receive a 30-minute natal chart reading with Elaine
No flower-making or tarot experience needed. Come on your own, bring a friend, get creative and leave with something beautiful.

Optional drinks packages are also available through the hotel, including options such as Prosecco, wine, tea and coffee. We'll email the drinks information to guests ahead of the workshop if you'd like to add something to your afternoon.
About your hosts
Karen Hsu / Pom Pom Factory
Karen is the founder and creative director of Pom Pom Factory, a London-based studio known for transforming paper into intricate botanical installations and tactile creative experiences. Her work has included projects for Four Seasons, Sketch London, Nespresso, Selfridges, Liberty, Soho House, the V&A and the Royal Opera House.
Elaine Hsu
Elaine is a 500-hour trained yoga teacher and certified Hellenistic astrologer, with additional training in sound healing.
